Integrative medicine is a comprehensive form of medical care merging both Eastern and Western medicines, thereby creating entirely new possibilities for maintaining health, treating illness and preventing diseases from progressing. Potential referrals for acupuncture and/or Chinese herbs are cancer patients, chronic urinary tract infections/crystals, chronic gastrointestinal disease, chronic kidney and liver disease, general weakness and debilitation, chronic lung and bronchial disease, recurring skin infections and allergies, back or neck pain, anxiety issues, chronic respiratory infections, rhinitis, epilepsy, chronic joint disease, post trauma and post-surgical support. For more information on acupuncture and Chinese herbs, please proceed to the the Library section.

Laser Therapy

Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is now available at PVS. Laser therapy is a surgery free, drug free, noninvasive treatment to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and increase speed of healing by inducing a biological response in the cells called "photo-bio-modulation". Laser therapy uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it. The laser light is delivered through a noninvasive hand piece to treat the affected area. Your pet may feel a gentle and soothing warmth. Most treatments take a matter of minutes. Laser therapy can be used to enhance other treatment plans recommended by your veterinarian. Laser therapy has been scientifically proven to be successful in treating post-surgical pain and many acute and chronic conditions, such as wounds, allergies, infections, cuts/bites, inflammation, sprains, strains and fractures, post-surgical healing & pain relief, degenerative joint disease, inflammatory bowel disease, lick granulomas, geriatric care, hip dysplasia, feline acne, tendonitis, arthritis and otitis to name a few.
